What kind of bike should i get?
I want to get a new bike but need help finding the right one….
I’m 6’6”, i like to ride mountain bikes so i can ride trails. through dirt and have the suspension to jump off things, i commute to school in a city, and i want a bike to suit these needs.
I want to know what would be the best mountain bike for the best deal, i like trek and specialized, but i know they can get spendy. I also want to know what size bike i need, and also if a hybrid bike would be an option?
You’re big enough that you may want to look at a 29″ bike.
You could do what I’ve done. I commute with my hard tail mountain (full suspension is heavy & useless on pavement) bike to work every day. I have 2 sets of wheels so I can quickly change from trail to road tires.
Of course a MT bike will ge heavy on the road, but 29″ tires (with disc brakes) can also use 700c wheels (with disc brakes), so you could put cyclocross wheels on the 29er.
It’ a compromise, but it will let you go with one bike for now.
