Summer Mountain Biking Program

summer mountain biking program
Biking trip question 20-25 miles a day?

Next summer, I might be going to Overland summer camp. If i do, i will do either the cape cod & the islands or the vermont program. on these programs i will be biking 20-25 miles a day. Last year, i bought a bike and it is a quest mountain bike. i ride it to and from school every day and since i leave it outside, it has gotten pretty rusty, and also it was a cheap bike. i am wondering if i need to get a new bike if i go into this summer camp, also what type, brand, and price. thanks!
whoops, i forgot, it’s a 2 week long trip and we will be biking 12-13 days, which is around 300 miles. also, bikes are available to rent from them, and they are either trek or cannondale, include rack and panniers, water bottle holders, bungee cords, etc. it’s $200 to rent from them and it’s fully equipped, would it be worth it? i will be driving there.

OK, a decent road bike is going to cost you $500 to $750. Water bottles, racks, and panniers will cost you another $150 or so (maybe more if you don’t do your own installation.) If you’re going to get into riding and start taking care of your bike, I would invest in a nice bike. If you’re going to let it sit out in the rain and snow and let it rust, go with the $200 rental.
