All the fun of the Pharaohs
There are some types of travel commonly associated with Egypt, Nile cruises, old and expensive to do nothing "interruptions in the Red Sea.
Few people can combine the previous three, but I'm not many people. I man. A man who came to a pause of several stops around the longest holiday destinations introduced.
When I say "oldest" that I am serious. The Romans were known to have made the pilgrimage to Cairo to marvel at the Pyramids of Giza during the height of his empire – 2000 years ago. It's easy enough to imagine the Romans travel weary now protected against the sun after their arduous journey by land thousands of miles.
Four took a grand total hours to get to Cairo, then another hour to get to my hotel, which happens to have a view that was bad. The three pyramids aligned outside my balcony. No sand spikes for me then.
This does not mean that Cairo is a luxury. Moving can be a chore, especially considering the city's population of 17 million has to move with an infrastructure designed for only five million dollars. You are therefore the position pyramids, the early exit is a necessity.
The Pyramids and the Sphinx did not need any introduction. They are huge and impressive and I can say I've been there and done that, although unfortunately could not find the seller of the shirt.
When you are finished with things large and impressive, escape the heat by going into a mosque during a prayer five times daily. Sit quietly in the cool of the building and see the prayers are held. He was also a religious experience as an escape from a recital chaos outside.
However, after a few days in Cairo was a great relief to be able to drop everything and head somewhere a little quieter. The next step in Luxor.
Luxor is the Egyptian museum and home of the cruise on the Nile Valley of the Kings near as Temple of Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon and the temples of Karnak and Luxor.
My home for a lonely night was exquisite Sonesta Moon Goddess named boat, anchored in the center of the city on the eastern bank of the Nile all the comforts that were on board as a gymnasium and a swimming pool and the staff is helpful and charming.
Unfortunately it was too late to travel anywhere place on the river, but gave me the chance to see the Luxor Museum (very small but beautiful exhibitions) and the Temple of Luxor – a place that encapsulates the heritage country even more than the pyramids mentioned.
If you fancy learning about the history of Egypt in more detail, a visit to Luxor Heritage Centre CULTNAT is an idea – you can watch the video preview of the rites and rituals of ancient Egypt and really make a thorough investigation into his vast library.
Soon my time in Luxor was over. He always what you would do in my return visit when the plane would take me to Sharm el-Sheikh is in sight. I'm not terribly impressed.

What amounted to a metal tube with four desk fans attached to the sides are supposed I transport and 30 miles across the desert 250-odd, the mountains and shark-infested waters of the city of Sharm el-Sheikh.
I was convinced he was sentenced. A brief conversation with one of my companions Road (a seven-foot German named Roland) ran something like this:
Roland: Do not worry, propeller planes are very safe.
Me: Please explain
Roland: Well, even if the three pillars can continue in a single engine
Me: Oh God.
One o'clock later, nervous, and to my surprise, he landed in Sharm, with all four engines running merrily away. I was rushed to my home – one of the resort hotels and very nice and large, totally lacking in charm, overlooking the beach.
Sharm is considered a paradise for divers, and it really is. Just swim a few meters from the beach and away from rocks, I saw a turquoise fish meters long, wide water Free was perfectly happy to let me pass on one or two minutes. It is unfortunate that nobody warned me about the dangers of what lurks in the water …
The problem is not what would happen if a fish took a bite of me, but the consequences of me taking a bite of a fish. Before he traveled to Egypt, people warned me against food and beverages. No ice, do not drink tap water and do not eat salad were the three main concerns.
It would have been a great help if someone had said – Do not eat seafood, but they did not. Then I found myself enjoying the latest fad diet that I called "Cairo calorie counter. This scheme is fishmeal, followed by sitting on the toilet for two days and have nothing but water and fruit juices. I lost the best part of the stone – that really works!
Another experience mentioned above – it's my fault more than anything, I have nothing but praise for the food in Egypt. Spicy kebabs and delicious cakes, sauces and desserts incredible traditional and delicious sweet, sticky offered – and you can eat ridiculously low.
I lunch at Abu El Sid in Zamalek Cairo, where they occupy around 10 pounds per plate Egyptians (about 80p) and the network are 20 to 40 Egyptian pounds (£ 2 – 4 pounds).
My last day session was devoted to Egypt a quad safari in the desert to see the sunrise over the mountains the Sinai Peninsula.
The journey started a 3:45 pm. He was accompanied by four of smoking a cigarette after the Russians have nothing done, but talk about Formula One, not to put me completely at ease to make it burn more than 40 mph undulating sand and jagged rocks. However, the bike was surprisingly easy to master and soon to slip through the dunes with a big smile on my scarf Arabic.
We We stopped a U-shaped wall of the mountain at the back and waited in silence for a while. The Russians have lit their cigars and me pushed on my record Handycam. About Us animated cat, which were affected by a growing wave of intense heat as the sun rose in the Middle East in the distance. It was the highlight of my trip and certainly worth the early start wicked.
Then jumped back in Saddle up for a tea break, Bedouin style. small glasses of tea with four sugars in each of the many things that give me energy for my return trip the United Kingdom.
