Jon graduated from Chico State with BS in Hydrology and minors in chemistry and geology. He later followed this up with a MS in Hydrology from the University of Nevada, and a JD degree from the University of Idaho. With an extensive educational background Jon now practices law as a Water and Natural Resources Attorney with the firm of Ringert Clark in Boise.

It’s not all about the office. When Jon’s not working he enjoys a diversity of outdoor activities. Prior to moving to Boise from San Francisco in 1998 Jon’s passion was rugby. He began playing rugby in college and in 1991 was a member of the first US team to play in post-wall Berlin. After graduate school he played one season for East Tamaki in Auckland, New Zealand the returned to San Francisco playing five seasons with Golden Gate.

It was after the move to Boise that Jon began racing mountain bikes competitively. His mountain bike racing career has been 7 years in the process and he continues to wade through the ranks; first Expert then Semi-Pro and now Pro. Jon has amassed numerous top five finishes in NORBA National cross-country races. He continues to mix it up both regionally and nationally in cross-country and short track events, and has recently begun exploring the marathon and ultra distance disciplines.
