Growing up in a small town outside of Minneapolis, Lynn had a passion for any athletic endeavor. Early on, cycling was merely a vehicle for delivering newspapers, her first job at nine-years-old, then a mode of transportation throughout her college years, and later an alternative to staying injury free.
Lynn earned a BS in Computer Science from Arizona State University, but put a real career on-hold to pursue professional running from 1986 - 1999. With bad running biomechanics, she often found herself pedaling a bike as alternative training when the riggers of running became too much. In 2003, after two knee and two foot surgeries (her husband calls these her 65,000 mile tune-ups), the doctors orders were to stop running. Mountain biking became a great alternative in satisfying her adrenalin addiction. In 2004 the competitive bug returned and she entered her first mountain bike race. Two seasons later, 2007 is set with a full mountain bike racing schedule and something new to try, road racing.
Lynn currently resides in Boise, Idaho with her husband Gary (also a member of Team Tamarack), and K9 daughter, Tanga. She runs her own Web design and development business, Stott Design. Her other interests include telemark skiing, camping, and hiking.
