creaking mountain bike driving me crazy?
my adult mountain bike is creaking over every little bump but when i’m cycling on a smooth road it’s silent. I even tried sitting up from the saddle and to see if removing my weight would help but it still creaks- the same when i took my feet off the pedals (although i’m a light cyclist under 130lb).
The only time it stopped creaking was when i was caught in rain and the bike got soaked- but started up again as soon as it was dry.
Please post some tips or advice of what i should do because the creaking is driving me mad!!

It could be almost anything, but if it stopped in the wet it could be a lack of lubrication on some of the moving parts, most likely the chain, cassette, chainrings or the jockey wheels. Give everything that moves a good clean and then lubricate lightly and keep it clean and lightly lubricated.
