Xc Mountain Biking Cross Country
What type of mountain bike should i purchase?
I’d like to buy a mountain bike. The problem is I’ll actually be biking cross country and a little road alot more than actual mountains. I want to have a good XC bike that I can also ride in the mountains when I get the chance. I would really not like to sacrifice one for the other, but I guess XC takes priority. Any suggestions are helpful, full suspension, hard tail, brands, tires, links. My price range is around 800 dollars. I know full suspension bikes can be really expensive but where I live I can only really ride for half the year. Any advice is great, thanks.
Well i would go for a hard tail for a few reasons, less maintnance, cheaper, and easier to ride on except on downihills or hard drops which you most likely wont be doing. The best for tires would be a dirt tire with smaller less “hardcore” treads, 26″ wheels obviously. 100mm-135mm forks. I have an Ironhorse Sachem 3.0 which is great for what you are doing and a litle bit more, $600 and adjustable Rock Shox Tora forks.
